Primate Biodemography

Humans share a most recent common ancestor with chimpanzees and understanding the human condition is greatly enhanced by the comparisons between the two species. For the past several years at Stanford, I have been collaborating with a group of primatologists, virologists, and conservation biologists to understand the biodemography of chimpanzees, largely from the long-term (46 years) data collection from the Gombe National Park, Tanzania.
